Order Picker Forklift Part - Order preparation operation or likewise called order picking as it is more commonly known is a method utilized within warehouse operations and comprises staff referred to as order pickers. The order picker's duty is to collect and take articles in certain quantities in order to accomplish the customer's orders before shipment. Order picking is a basic warehousing process. The effectiveness in which this task is done could be directly linked to the productivity of a supply chain. Thus, order picking is among the most controlled logistic methods. Order picking falls in the category of the warehouse management system.

There are several certain types of order picking. The main kinds comprise: pick to box method, wave picking method, piece picking or picker to part method, sorting systems method and zone picking method.

The pick to box method comprises the order picker only filling the boxes with stuff that are from their specific station. The box then moves on to other stations to until the order is complete. In this particular process, there is no movement of the order picker employees. In the wave picking method, the order pickers move about to be able to collect the needed items for several orders. The piece picking or picker to part method is similar where the order picker or pickers move in order to gather the stuff needed but for one order only.

In the sorting systems method, there is no movement of the order picking staff. Instead, the products are brought to her or him through an automated system like a conveyor system or an automatic storage. In the zone picking method, each order picker is assigned to one particular area. They are responsible for just realizing order picking in this particular zone.
